Well known Italian fashion and fragrance brand Emporio Armani recently released its newest two perfumes that are meant to tell a love story. In 1966, Giorgio Armani met the love of his life, Sergio Galeotti, and as partners the two went on to launch the Giorgio Armani business empire. Galeotti passed away in 1985 but their deep love lives on for Armani and their love story is the basis for Because It’s You (female) and Stronger With You (male).
The fragrance bottles are sealed with layers of rings on the bottle cap, the same ring design that Armani wears to this day. The ad campaign is focused on two young and hopelessly in love people. Kisses, embraces, and scented encounters of tantalizing romance. The world is their oyster.
Because It’s You is a light and sparkling perfume that’s ideal for late spring through summer although of course it can be worn year round. The opening is a bold and captivating explosion of fruity notes of juicy raspberry and black currant. The fruity sweetness provides an entre to the tempting floral nuances of rose absolute, powdery violet and addictive jasmine sambac. The voluptuous pairing of musk and vanilla provide a soft and alluring dry down. The nose behind this fragrance is Anne Flipo. If you are a fan of fruity florals then you should definitely check this one out.
Stronger With You is a playful and sexy composition that can best be described as a spicy gourmand scent. It has a slightly devil-may-care vibe to it that exudes uncompromising masculinity. The opening draws you in with hot cardamom, pepper and cinnamon before notes of vanilla and sage start playing around. The best comes last with cedar, amber and candied chestnut accords. The perfumer behind the creation is Cecile Matton.
I really don’t get all of the haters of this one because it doesn’t strike me as a polarizing scent. One review on Fragrantica went so far as to say it should have been called “Better Off Without You”. To my nose it smells uncomplicated and inviting but to each his own.
