GOOD GIRL BY CAROLINA HERRERA

Whether it’s due to the eye-catching bottle or what’s actually inside it, Good Girl has been selling like hotcakes ever since it hit the market in December 2016 and is slated to become one of the top-selling fragrances in multiple countries for 2017.

If you are a lover of coffee, cacao, chocolate, tuberose or jasmine – and especially if you go crazy for gourmand fragrances – this will be right up your alley. Something about Good Girl by Carolina Herrera reminds me of caramel macchiato, which was my favorite Starbucks drink until I discovered coconutmilk mocha macchiato. It definitely has that dessert vibe going on.

Good Girl was supposedly inspired by the “duality of women”. “Having femininity, being a woman, we’re not just one thing. We are sensual, coy, and mysterious, we can be loud or quiet, but we can be very naughty when we want to be”, says Carolina Herrera de Baez, who  recently co-chaired the annual Fragrance Foundation Awards in New York  along with Karlie Kloss. (Vanity Fair – 1/12/17).

The bottle clearly allows the juice to strut its stuff. Whether you love it or hate it – and there are strong feelings in both camps – it’s definitely one you’ll remember. Are more teetering stiletto bottles carrying designer fragrances to follow or does she has a patent on that design? We’ll soon see.

I’m personally a bigger fan of Carolina Herrera’s first perfume – Carolina Herrera – which was first released in 1988. I even enjoyed her 212 Sexy and 212 VIP perfume to a certain point, although never enough to purchase a bottle.

My feelings are a bit mixed about this one and I’m wondering if trying Good Girl on an especially hot and humid summer day (when I’m feeling borderline bitchy) might have something to do with it. When you’re feeling sweaty and slightly nauseous from the heat, it probably isn’t the best time to try Good Girl. I can see this as being a  better fragrance for cooler weather and definitely a stellar gift for the right person.

I can think of several people I know who would go nuts over this fragrance so come the holidays when I’l be smelling it again I’ll  rethink this. If my feelings change I’ll post an update:)

PS I actually love the bottle!
